Global Scholars
Global Scholarships
Each Year, District 7980 identifies one or two students who are driven by passion, vision, and a deep desire to change the world. We bring life to these visionaries and provide them their wings to breathe life into their dreams. The following video presentations of two special individuals, Shoshana Stewart and Allison Rivera, our District’s most recent Global Scholars, are living examples of how Rotary can change lives by providing an opportunity for individuals to grow, create, and give back to the world.
Please take a moment and watch the stories of two magnificent individuals doing good in the world.

Global Grant Scholarships
The purpose of the Rotary 2022-23 Global Grant Scholarship is to foster international understanding through graduate study in a foreign university with a concentration in one or more of Rotary International’s Seven Areas of Focus. The value of the scholarship is $30,000. Two scholarships are available.
Candidates must apply, be interviewed, and be endorsed by a District 7980 Rotary Club prior to being interviewed by the District Scholarship Committee. Mukund Nori, of the Rotary Club of North Branford, is the Committee Chair. All questions should be directed to Mukund for any clarifications.
The final decision regarding Global Grant Scholarship recipients is made by The Rotary Foundation. Sponsoring clubs will be responsible for submitting Global Grant Scholarship to TRF, and when approved be responsible for financial stewardship.
Deadline for applications to the District Scholarship Committee: January 16, 2023. If you are interested in applying for this scholarship, you should make contact with a local club prior to December 31, 2022, to allow sufficient time for the application and local club interview processes. Clubs will determine dates for applications to their local scholarship committee. District interviews will be held in early February 2023.
