To qualify for the 2009-2010 Governor’s Citation, each club must complete the requirements in six (6) out of the following seven (7) categories between July 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010, and submit the application form to your Assistant Governor by April 1, 2010.

CATEGORIES     

Polio:  

Conduct a polio fundraising program, alone or in a co-operation with the District or another Club(s) or non- Rotary Group

Rotary Foundation:    (Any two)

1.    (a) Have at least 50% of Club members contribute to the Rotary Foundation or (b) have Club and its members, in the aggregate exceed an average contribution of $100 per member for the Annual Fund

2.    Have talks about Foundation programs at least three (3) times prior to March 31, 2010

3.    Send at least one member to attend the District Foundation Dinner

4.    Send at least one member to the Foundation Seminar

5.    Have a Club member participate in at least one Foundation Program (e.g. GSE, Foundation Scholarship candidate recruitment, apply for a grant)

Membership: (Both)

1.    Recruitment: Have 20% of your Club members invite a potential member to a club meeting

2.    Retention: State what policies, activities and/or programs your Club has adopted to show its commitment to keeping its members involved and interested in Rotary

Vocational Service: (Any two)

1.    Sponsor young person to participate in the district Four-Way Speech contest

2.    Have a speaker at a Club Meeting talk about Business Ethics

3.    Sponsor the establishment of either a community-based or university-based Rotaract Club

4.    Have 15% of the membership give "vocational moments" on their occupation at a club meeting

5.    Sponsor a  young person to attend RYLA or New Generations

Service: (Both 1 and 2)

1.    The Green Program - any of the following

        (a)    Participate in Make a Difference Day

        (b)    Commit to plant a tree as part of the Arbor Day program

        (c)    Have a speaker at a Club Meeting talk about the climate change, energy conservation, recycling or similar environmental issues

        (d)    Promote education in the community of ways to either (i) conserve energy or protect the environment, either in cooperation with a non-profit organization or governmental unit, or (ii) by the Club alone

2.    Conduct one community service program and support one International service program or project (in addition to the Green Program)

Leadership: (Any one)

1.    Send at least one club member to a district- sponsored even which provides information on Rotary programs or initiatives during 2009-10 Rotary year

2.    Have at least one club member serve at the district level

3.    Participate, or commit to participate, in the Club Visioning program

Public Image: (Either one)

1.    Submit a story about a club speaker to a local newspaper or the Beacon

2.    Conduct an activity designed to publicize Rotary to the local community
