To encourage and foster service within each Rotary Club's community through volunteerism and support.  To identify community needs and personally participate in projects that make a difference and raise the quaility of life in the community. 

The Community Service Committee provides assistance and guidance to clubs in the area of Community Service when requested and manages the work of the subcommittees that report to it.

AMERICARES Homefront is a 22 year old program doing hands-on commumity service to repair homes, community centers, etc. This is a perfect opportunity for Rotary clubs and Interact clubs in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, or Litchfield Counties to work together to help their communities.  Next Homefront weekend is May 2 or 3, 2009. Application Deadline is December 31, but they will accept team aplications until January 31. Homefront Information and Team Application Forms 

2009 Goal: Have all 61 clubs in the district participate in Make_A_Difference_Day on October 10, 2009, as a hands on project to clean a stream, pond, lake, river, or beach. Key partner: Trout Unlimited will provide clubs assistance in locating meaningful projects. List of regional Trout Unlimited Chapers to contact. Please Register your club projects by Septemer 15, 2009. Submit a press release to your local papers to announce your plans.
